Recognising Excellent Governance in the Independent Training Provider Sector

This AELP monograph is being led by Dr Susan Pember OBE and will seek to determine and recognise excellent practice in the ITP sector.

Its aims are:
• To consider the role of governance in the delivery of the education and skills programme in the independent sector.
• To identify excellent practice and how it can be replicated throughout the ITP sector.
• To ensure this work complements the work being undertaken by DfE on the college and higher education sectors.
• To determine a development plan to ensure the findings are cascaded to the rest of the ITP sector.

As a result of the project the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) is consulting on a new Code of Good Governance for Independent Training Providers who deliver publicly funded skills programmes on behalf of the government. You can read and respond to this here.
